Firefly Media is a collective of Christian creatives, conspiring together to create new musical and theatrical art. Our family-friendly theatrical productions are led by award-winning composer DAVID GIPSON ( www.DaveGipson.net ). Our vision is to use theatre to illuminate the darkness in the world around us, just as fireflies poke holes of light in the night.
Why theatre? Because those who control the narratives (stories) hold the influence, and theatre is all about a good story. If we tell the right stories well enough, and often enough, eventually we can change our world.
Together, we offer our time and talents to “lighten up the world” with the Good News we’ve found.
COMING SOON…
On the horizon in 2025 are new shows like HOME BEFORE DARK, the musical comedy/drama about the power of grandparents, set for its World Premiere in the Spring.
Coming for Christmas in 2025 is A (twisted) CHRISTMAS CAROL, a musical reimagining of Dickens’ classic, now being written by David Gipson and Zachary Gass, with an ending you’ll never see coming.
Then in the Spring of 2026, the World Premier of POLLYANNA: A NEW MUSICAL.
LOCAL TN PRODUCTIONS
Locally in East Tennessee, our shows are produced at FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF GREENEVILLE TN who enthusiastically support using the Arts to change the world for Christ. The generosity of FBC has made it possible for our shows produced here in Greeneville to be free to the public, for which we are very grateful. If you’d like to support future Greeneville-area productions, tax-deductible donations may be made to First Baptist Church (just put “Music Fund” in your check memo).
BIG DREAMS
Our dream is that organizations all over the world will mount their own local productions of FIREFLY shows, spreading their influence and the Gospel even further. That goal is now being realized, as word is spreading about the content and quality of our shows. Let us know how we can partner with your local theatre or church group, using theatre to “lighten up your world”.
ENCOURAGING ARTISTS
Right now, we’re excited about our new network of Christian Artists who’ll meet together to support and encourage each other: THE FIREFLY NETWORK OF CREATIVES. Being an artist in the Church can be challenging, so we are committing to be a home-base for people hoping to make great art that is God-honoring. We’ll meet monthly, both online and in-person, for fellowship and to share our current work with each other. Creators may present scenes and songs from their new projects and receive encouragement, feedback, and suggestions. Let us know if you’d like to be part of our new network.
